Medium depth chemical peels are used to create a youthful skin texture by improving the evenness of skin color and texture. Appearance of wrinkles,sun damage, blotchiness, brown spots, scars and certain precancerous skin growths can be reduced.

Treated areas take about seven to 14 days to heal after a medium chemical peel, but redness might last for months. After a deep chemical peel, you’ll experience severe redness and swelling.
Peeling will generally start 48-72 hours after your treatment and can last 2-5 days. It is very important not to pick off peeling skin; peeling is minimal and easily controlled with moisturizer. Premature peeling of the skin will result in dry, cracked, raw skin that may develop into hyperpigmentation.

It is important to moisturize after a chemical peel. … Moisturizers will not prevent the peeling process, as it is part of the chemical peel process. Patients will want to avoid harsh moisturizers and go for a nautral moisturiser that is light on additives.
Avoid make up for 7 to 10 days after your chemical peel, and you might also be advised to wait even longer. Your skin can only benefit from having extra time to heal and breathe. Makeup, after all, isn’t very sterile.
Both chemical peels and microneedling will improve the appearance of your skin. Chemical peels generally work best on superficial imperfections, while microneedling penetrates deeper to improve more troublesome issues.
For the first 5 days after your chemical peel, do not participate in activities that increase body heat and sweat, such as drinking alcohol, exercise/working out, hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, hot shower spray, swimming or directing a hair dryer to the treatment area. Internal heating can cause hyperpigmentation.
After a chemical peel, the skin is extremely vulnerable to sun damage. This is why most patients are advised to avoid sun exposure after they have had their chemical peel. The skin is more susceptible to damage from the sun’s UVA and UVB rays, even with the application of sun screen. Avoid sun 7 to 10 days after the peel. Must wear SPF50 to protect your skin.
